Mephedrone -- A Popular Party Drug -- Could Help President Obama Get Re-Elected

Mephedrone was first synthesised in 1929, but did not become widely known until it was rediscovered in 2003. By 2007, mephedrone was reported to be available for sale on the internet... _Mephedrone, from Wikipedia

US President Barack Obama faces the most difficult election challenge of his young career. Obama presides over an America that suffers a profound and worsening malaise, of a type not seen in the US since the late 1970s. From the worsening economy -- teetering on the brink of recession -- to deepening social divisions, Obama has given American voters very little rational reason to vote for him.

But voting is not necessarily a rational action, for most persons. In past elections, many people have voted a certain way in exchange for cigarettes or beer money. In fact, for many politicians, it would be better for voters to enter the polling booth in a deep stupour, with just enough wits to vote for the "right" person.

In extreme cases, you want to prepare voters well in advance of election day. Even an intoxicated person may retain enough inconvenient memories of a politician's incompetence and corruption, to vote against him even when besotted with intoxicants. Particularly bad leaders -- such as Obama -- will want to prepare ahead, by erasing bad memories of voters.

Unfortunately, it is not yet possible to selectively erase specific memories, so it would be necessary to destroy a broad memory spectrum, to ensure that the voter is unable to go against the instructions of his handler, once alone in the booth.

Fortunately, mephedrone -- a popular party drug -- may be exactly what Obama White House physicians ordered.
"You get the euphoria and touchy-feeliness of ecstasy together with the intense addictiveness of methamphetamine or cocaine," said Motbey.

...Rats were given an injection of mephedrone once a day for 10 days. The brains from one group of rats were examined an hour after their final dose. Another group of rats had several more weeks of drug-free living and were then given behavioural tests to find signs of long-term cognitive impairment, before their brains were also analysed.

"With this second group that lived drug free for an extended period we found a substantial memory impairment in animals that had been given the higher dose of the drug. This is concerning because it confirms earlier hints of memory problems in human mephedrone users. The fact the impairment was still there many weeks after the end of the drug treatment suggests that this damage may be permanent," said Motbey. _Mephedrone Brain Damage

Permanent brain damage from a party drug that makes you feel good and is addictive too? It may just work, for the unscrupulous incumbent who considers voters to be little better than laboratory rats.

We know that convicted felons, drug abusers, and illegal aliens favour Obama (aka President Food Stamp) over his opponent by a very wide margin -- perhaps by as wide a margin as African Americans favour Obama.

By slipping mephedrone into municipal water supplies, and food suppliers such as Starbucks Coffees, and popular Ben & Jerry's ice cream, large portions of the US public could be made addicted to the drug unawares.

The sooner this covert campaign can be instituted, the earlier we should see the breaking down of unpleasant memories by American voters, and the sooner that Obama should start inching up in the opinion polls.

Obama may not quite be the absolute worst president the US has experienced. But already, he has created much hardship and many bad memories. Relying on the news media and educational system to dumb down US voters would probably take too long, in terms of the November election. A little more fast-acting help in the dumbing down department may be necessary.

Not Out of Africa? A Question of Origins

[A] distinctive skull...was unearthed in 1979 in Longlin cave, Guangxi Province, but has only now been fully analysed. It has thick bones, prominent brow ridges, a short flat face and lacks a typically human chin. "In short, it is anatomically unique among all members of the human evolutionary tree," says Darren Curnoe at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia.

The skull, he says, presents an unusual mosaic of primitive features like those seen in our ancestors hundreds of thousands of years ago, with some modern traits similar to living people. _New Scientist

Artist's Conception of "Red Deer Human" from Longlin Cave in China

The anthropologist Dienekes suggests that these findings of relatively recent archaic humans in China rules out China as the origin of the first modern humans. Dienekes uses similar reasoning to rule out subSaharan Africa and Europe as birthplaces of modern humans.

Dienekes' basic idea is that if modern humans had originated in China, Europe, or subSaharan Africa, that archaic humans would have been replaced by modern humans there, much earlier than was apparently the case. By a process of elimination, Dienekes proposes either extreme northern Africa or Arabia as the original birthplace of modern humans. From there, homo sapiens would have dispersed in all directions, displacing archaic humans as they went.

Discussion of Pre-Sapiens Discoveries in Dmanisi, Georgia

The question of the origins of modern humans is an intriguing and controversial topic. The "Out of Africa" theory has been so deeply engrained into the political consciousness of modern academics and intellectuals, that any contradictory hypotheses must be over-supported by the evidence in order to be accepted by even a small proportion of anthropologists and archaeologists.

The scientists at Longlin cave and other similar sites in China are working diligently to extract DNA from their skeletal specimens, in an attempt to discover where the "Red Deer Humans" may fit in the human evolutionary tree.

Answer to Global Aging? Traveling Stud Ensenbles

The world faces a population bomb of old people, such as those seated on the bench above. Not only are countries such as Russia and Japan doomed to fade into the twilight of history due to ultra-low birthrates. Entire towns and regions of developed nations such as the United States and Canada are dwindling into non-existence.

It is not only prairie towns, farm towns, and isolated rural towns that are shrinking to nothing. Scenic coastal towns such as Camden, Maine, are desperate to prevent the continuing loss of population. Much more than regional colour, history, and tax bases are being lost. Entire ways of life and culture are slipping out of time. What is to be done?
StudEnsemble
A new industry is rising up to meet the needs of aging populations -- particularly in North America, but also in western Europe. Traveling ensembles of human studs, such as the Latin Stallions, have risen to prevent the threatened demographic disaster.

Al Fin recently traveled to Camden, to meet with Jose Mendez, El Jefe of the Latin Stallions.

Al Fin: Why have you and the Stallions come to Camden, Jefe? Were you invited by the mayor or city council?

Jefe: (Laughing) No, Al. We could see there was a need for our services here. The population is dropping because the bit-... uh, the young women are not having babies. It's a problem we know how to solve, so we're solving it.

AF: But how do the townspeople of Camden react to what you are doing?

Jefe: The bi-... er, women don't mind, Al. Some of the older people give us the dirty looks, sure. It's an Anglo thing for unmarried women and girls not to have babies. But you see where that hangup's got them? We're here to help.

AF: So the Stallions are just here temporarily? You don't plan to settle here, like on a stud farm, maybe get married?

Jefe: Hell, no, Al! We're the "Travlin" Latin Stallions. We don't stop no place for nobody. There's lots of towns like Camden that needs us.

AF: Okay, but how do you finance your travels? Who pays your way as you go from shrinking town to shrinking town?

Jefe: We don' talk about that to the public, Al. But we're more than just studs. We're businessmen. We move more than one product, if you know what I mean.

AF: I think I do, Jefe. Well, thanks for speaking with me, and good luck re-populating the small towns and backwoods.

Jefe: Hey, no problem Al. We know what needs to be done. If these ... women need a little help, we're there for it.

See, Al, in a capitalist country there's solutions to any problem you got. Sometimes you need an outsider to see what needs to be done....

_______________________________________________

There you have it. The outlook for Russia and Japan may not be so bright, unless such countries can develop stud solutions of their own. Artificial wombs might be the best solution, but we are still years and decades away from being able to mass produce effective artificial wombs. Until then, the ... er, women may need something a bit more convincing to help them see the light. Perhaps something more studly than they are accustomed to?

Outraged Feminists Protest Angrily Outside Brian Wang's Silicon Valley Offices

Angry feminists are staging 24 hour protests outside the Silicon Valley offices of noted blogger Brian Wang. Al Fin -- disguised as an ugly woman in order to fit in, and speaking in a falsetto pitch -- managed to interview a few of the protestors. Approaching a small cluster of particularly angry-looking feminists:

AF (holding up a clenched fist):Equality! What is this all about, sisters?

Bambi: We're protesting that sexist pig Brian Wang! He's promoting the genocide of females on his blog.

AF: Disgusting! Where can I read what that sexist pig says?

Dawn: It's all right there in black and white! Read it for yourself.

AF (reading the webpage on Bambi's IPhone): You mean here where he talks about a laser that can be programmed to kill only female mosquitoes?

Candi: That's right! It leaves the males alone and only kills the females! Sexist pig!

AF: But only female mosquitoes bite and spread diseases like malaria and yellow fever. What harm can the males do if there are no females left to breed with? Besides, they're only mosquitoes.

Dawn: Sure, they start with just mosquitoes. Then they move up the animal chain to human females. It always starts innocently enough.

AF: What do you plan to do to Brian Wang? He is only reporting the story. He's just a blogger, albeit quite widely-read and well respected.

Bambi: We've got to make an example out of anyone who is willing to spread the news of this sexist genocide without condemning it outright. He's just so damned clinical about it, as if it were a good thing! He's got to pay -- Hey! That looks like beard stubble under your makeup! (grabs at AF's crotch)

AF (dancing nimbly out of reach): Thank you so much for expressing your point of view, sisters. Equality! (hurries away to getaway car)

Mr. Myhrvold said he thinks there is particular potential in the Blu-ray laser technology, because blue lasers are more powerful than red ones and there are a lot of them being made cheaply now.

He estimates that the devices could potentially cost as little $50, depending on the volume of demand. However, his company would not manufacture them. Rather, it built the technology mostly as a proof of concept. (Among other things, his company is also working on cooking technology.) Other companies would have to take the laser technologies to market, so the timeline for seeing the lasers in common use is uncertain.

The laser detection is so precise that it can specify the species, and even the gender, of the mosquito being targeted. “The women are bigger. They beat at a lower frequencies,” Mr. Myhrvold said. Since it is only the female mosquitoes who bite humans, for the sake of efficiency, his system would leave the males alone. _BrianWang

Human-Pig Hybrid Banned from UK Mosque

The UK's Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority has approved the production of human-pig hybrids , but a London imam warns authorities that such hybrids will not be welcome in his East London mosque, or any UK mosques.
"We will take skin cells from patients who have a mutation for certain kinds of heart disease (cardiomyopathy, which makes the heart lose its pumping strength) and put them into pig eggs after their chromosomes have been removed. We will then make embryos...it's important to say that we're at the very early stages of this research and it will take a considerable amount of time. There is still a great deal to learn about these techniques and much of our early work will involve understanding how we can make the hybrid cloning process as efficient as possible." __Source
Al Fin's cousin Abu has notified Al Fin that Imam Abdul Makin, from his East London mosque, has issued a fatwah against any human-pig hybrids who try to enter his mosque--or any UK mosque.

The mood was tense at the UK Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority, and officials refused all comment.

New Chimeric Lamb--Warns Against Global Warming

Scientists at the Univeristy of Nevada have developed a sheep that is 15% human. As pictured above, it is quoted as saying that global warming is baaaaad!
Scientists have created the world's first human-sheep chimera - which has the body of a sheep and half-human organs.

The sheep have 15 per cent human cells and 85 per cent animal cells - and their evolution brings the prospect of animal organs being transplanted into humans one step closer.

Professor Esmail Zanjani, of the University of Nevada, has spent seven years and £5million perfecting the technique, which involves injecting adult human cells into a sheep's foetus.

...Scientists at King's College, London, and the North East Stem Cell Institute in Newcastle have now applied to the HFEA, the Government's fertility watchdog, for permission to start work on the chimeras.
Source

The chimeric animals would allow better animal models for human disease research, and might allow animal to human organ transplantation with less risk of rejection. There is the risk of transferring animal viruses to humans.

Most scientists believe that the anti-global warming aspect of the chimeric sheep to be a bug, although Al Gore has stated publically that he sees it as more of a feature.

Dangers of Biotech

In this photograph you can see one of the dangers of biotech. This poor creature can not look forward to a happy life as either a kitten or a frog. Thanks to self-centered and ambitious biotechnologists, this poor varmint is doomed to a life of misery and ridicule. Is it too much to label the scientists who did this "little Hitlers?" Perhaps, but one cannot help but feel the pain of this miscegenetic chimera.
