Violent Crime: If You Ignore it, It Won't Go Away

Race War Preppers
Violent crime rates in US cities are rising again, after a respite of almost 20 years. A spike in violent assaults is largely responsible for the rise.

One of the most striking aspects of the recent spike in US violent crimes is the inter-racial aspect of the phenomenon. Respected economist and author Thomas Sowell -- a black man himself -- asserts that a censored race war against whites is taking place in US cities. DOJ crime statistics appear to support that assertion, if one looks beneath the veneer.
Not only is the U.S. economy in shambles, violent crime is at an all-time high and new federal statistics show that 2011 saw the biggest increase in criminal activity in nearly two decades with a large boost in the rate of “violent victimizations” for whites. _JudicialWatch
In several locations, an alarming rise in black hate crimes against whites and asians is raising racial fears to new levels.

Some people may remember the infamous "Zebra Killings" in the San Francisco bay area of the 1970s. Violent black groups in the bay area specifically targeted whites for killing -- as a form of initiation, as well as an irrational form of retribution for actions decades or centuries old.

The mentality behind the Zebra Killings never actually went away. In fact, the ideas that fuel black hatred against whites and asians in the US, has become more broadly generalised and institutionalised in churches, special K-12 through university schools, special curricula within mainstream K-12 through university schools, and in ethnic and mainstream media. Such hatred is also often transmitted from mother to sons, from the cradle onward -- similar to the way that Palestinain youth are programmed from infancy to hate Jews.

An interesting 2011 paper titled: "Crime in Europe and the US Dissecting the Reversal of Fortunes" (PDF), Attempts to explain the apparent contradictory trends in violent crive rates -- where European crime rates were rising, and US crime rates had been dropping for almost 20 years.

Although the last two years are seeing an uptick in violent assault in the US, it is worth looking at the reasons the researchers gave for changing trends in violent crime rates.

They looked at the influence of:
  1. demographic changes,
  2. incarceration,
  3. abortion,
  4. unemployment
  5. immigration
on crime.

We find that the demographic structure of the population and the incarceration rate are important determinants of crime. Our results suggest that a tougher incarceration policy may be an effective way to contrast crime in Europe. _Contrasting Crime Trends in Europe and the US (PDF)
It is odd that the authors of the study did not suggest stricter immigration control for Europe as well, given their findings. It is difficult to overcome over half a century of draconian political correctness, however.

Ignoring the issue of violent crime will not make it go away. The alarming rise in black hate crimes against whites and asians -- and sometimes hispanics -- suggests that the two most politically correct population groups are also the most victimised. Whites and asians are also the groups with the lowest fertility rates -- suggesting that the victimisation of these populations at the hands of young black males may be just beginning.

A similar future for aging populations of whites in Europe is likely, as immigrant groups from underperforming tribal third world areas replace more and more of the former native populations.

Top 10 Most Dangerous Cities: 2012

The cities are listed from least dangerous to most dangerous. But it is recommended that travelers exercise extreme caution in any cities that find themselves on such a list. You might note that St. Louis, Mo., USA, has fallen off this top ten list. Last year, St. Louis occupied the #3 spot.

10. Caracas, Venezuela

Caracas is a city torn apart by drug trafficking and an abundance of petty crimes. Robbery is commonplace even in broad daylight, and the police have very little control over criminal activity. Many locals blame the government who is apathetic to these issues, much more protection is needed for many cities in Venezuela because it’s geological position makes it a drug running haven.

9. Mogadishu, Somalia

The capitol of Somalia is still in turmoil and the outlook for 2012 is not bright. Civil war has torn apart the city (and the country) for two decades and political violence is very easily sparked. Accurate statistical data is almost impossible to obtain because of how belligerent local militias are, but it’s safe to say that Mogadishu is quite dangerous, an essentially lawless city with an abundance of bandits. A huge amount of it’s citizens abandoned the city three years ago leaving behind bombed out shells of buildings, but it remains as violent as ever.

8. Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

While Rio de Janeiro has some fantastic beaches and beautiful landscapes, you should not be lulled into a false sense of security should you visit. There are many slum/shanty areas where about %20 of the population lives in economic turmoil, and this struggle has given way to an ongoing conflict between drug traffickers and the local police force. Tourists and travelers are advised to stay away from the mountainous regions and poor areas of the city, especially at night. The police are there to protect you, but be aware that bribery is commonplace with them and that you may need some money to get out of a bind.

7. Grozny, Chechnya, Russia

In the mid 1990′s a very destructive conflict began between Chechnya and Russia. Grozny was left in shambles after a barrage of shells, missiles, and dynamite tore the city asunder- there were thousands dead and the toll on the city was massive. While the fighting apparently ended in 2006, it remains a very dangerous place full of crime both organized and petty. It’s especially dangerous for western tourists because of high kidnapping rates.

6. Ciudad Juarez, Mexico

The drug cartels in Mexico show no signs of slowing down their business, and Ciudad Juarez is one of the worst affected areas. The drug trafficking groups in Mexico are notoriously violent and stop at absolutely nothing to move their product, they have control over the region and can do pretty much whatever they want. This city has been called one of the most violent places in the world outside of war zones, and the police force is known to be corrupt. The blame for this violence is often attributed to the Mexican government, but others blame the ongoing American war on drugs that facilitates the illegal drug trade.

5. Bogota, Colombia

Bogota’s main problem lies in the drug trade and extremist political groups rebelling against the Colombian government, but fortunately there have been some improvements since the 90′s. The north side of the city is absolutely more safe that the southern regions, it’s advisable to stay in this area and no to wander past the city limits. Bogota is a great tourist destination with lots to see, just be careful and don’t stray too far from safe areas.

4. Baghdad, Iraq

Baghdad suffers from a very unstable political climate with many different factions destroying the city in their own way. The infrastructure has been torn apart by bombings and the streets are filled with unpredictable violence. The invasion by the United States in 2003 further escalated violence in the city and it has been a hostile place ever since. A lack of organization and infrastructure further exacerbate tension among Iraqis.

3. Guatemala City, Guatemala

Guatemala as a whole is riddled with crime because of a corrupt government and police force who are not at all equipped to deal with the abundance of criminal activity. The capitol has it the worst, the huge gap between the rich and poor is brought into stark contrast and robbery and violence are commonplace. It’s a shame because it’s such a beautiful city and country, but the corruption runs too deep for the streets to be safe.

2. San Pedro Sula, Honduras

This city in Honduras has one of the highest murder rates in the world and is considered even more dangerous than areas of Iraq and Afghanistan. Robbery is a rampant problem and almost everyone must carry a weapon of some sort for protection. Even minor disputes are often settled with violence and walking the streets requires extreme caution. Tourists are especially warned, anyone appearing to be a foreigner are specific targets for criminals.

1. Cape Town, South Africa

While Cape Town is a huge tourist attraction and a big city full of things to do, it also has extremely high crime rates and walking down the wrong street at the wrong time can put you in harms way. The disparity between socioeconomic classes is a major factor for criminal activity, and robbery is extremely common. Tourists are advised to do their research and stay in a relatively safe part of the city, don’t walk around unless the streets are well-lit with plenty of people out and be extra careful if you have to use an ATM.

Dennis Mangan Returns: A Blog Awakens

Mangan's, the notable blog by Dennis Mangan which will be 9 years old next March, has been awakened from a deep sleep. Here are links to his three most recent pieces, as of this writing:

The piece -- "Violent crimes against whites: some evidence" -- links to an important piece from judicial watch, which helps fill some huge gaps in reporting left vacant by the skankstream media:
The rate of violent crime increased by a whopping 17% last year, according to the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS), marking the biggest jump since 1993. Property crimes also went up 11% last year. That means that in 2011 there were nearly 6 million violent victimizations and more than 17 million property victimizations, according to the DOJ figures.

...Here are more unsettling statistics buried deep in the DOJ’s new crime report; there has been a large increase in the rate of violent victimizations for whites, Hispanics and younger people. That means white non-Hispanics and Hispanics experienced an increase in violent victimization rates, while the rate for black non-Hispanics was stable, according to the DOJ stats.

Additionally, crime rate in the suburbs is growing much faster than in the cities or rural areas, the government figures show. In 2011 suburbanites suffered a 20% in violent victimizations, according to the DOJ. Keep in mind that the feds admit in their report that the figures are probably much higher since only about 50% of violent victimizations were reported to police.

...Not only is the U.S. economy in shambles, violent crime is at an all-time high... _Judicial Watch
This is the sad legacy of Obama's crusade to turn America into a larger version of Chicago.

This information helps substantiate what earlier government statistics had shown:
Blacks are seven times more likely than people of other races to commit murder, and eight times more likely to commit robbery.
When blacks commit crimes of violence, they are nearly three times more likely than non-blacks to use a gun, and more than twice as likely to use a knife.
Hispanics commit violent crimes at roughly three times the white rate, and Asians commit violent crimes at about one quarter the white rate.
The single best indicator of violent crime levels in an area is the percentage of the population that is black and Hispanic.

Interracial Crime

Of the nearly 770,000 violent interracial crimes committed every year involving blacks and whites, blacks commit 85 percent and whites commit 15 percent.
Blacks commit more violent crime against whites than against blacks. Forty-five percent of their victims are white, 43 percent are black, and 10 percent are Hispanic. When whites commit violent crime, only three percent of their victims are black.
Blacks are an estimated 39 times more likely to commit a violent crime against a white than vice versa, and 136 times more likely to commit robbery.
Blacks are 2.25 times more likely to commit officially-designated hate crimes against whites than vice versa.

Gangs

Only 10 percent of youth gang members are white.
Hispanics are 19 times more likely than whites to be members of youth gangs. Blacks are 15 times more likely, and Asians are nine times more likely. _Color of Crime (PDF)
If Obama is re-elected to a second term, these statistics are likely to worsen over time, as the underlying problems within US black communities continue to be avoided by politically correct, corrupt politicians and bureaucrats of the leftist persuasion.

These are just a few of the important trends to keep in mind, as we feel our way into an increasingly treacherous future. Thanks, Dennis. And welcome back!

Hello, My Name is Stockton, California. Prepare to Die

This piece is adapted from an article previously published on Al Fin Potpourri

Like many other California cities, the cost of pensions, pay, and benefit packages is bankrupting Stockton, California. In fact, Stockton has already declared bankruptcy. The city cannot afford to hire new police officers, because all the money is going to pay for the pensions and benefits of old police officers and other municipal employees -- current and retired.

Murder, rape, and robbery are becoming the new normal in Stockton, something of a preview of coming attraction to other Calfornia cities who find themselves in the same fiscal boat.

In Stockton, California, which declared bankruptcy earlier this year, your chances of becoming a victim of a violent crime such as murder, rape, robbery or assault are 1 in 70, which is nearly four times higher than the national average.

Your chances of being the victim of a property crime are even more likely, with 1 in every 17 residents of the city facing the prospect of having their house broken into or car stolen this year.

This is what happens when a city, county, state or federal government can no longer pay its bills and is forced to lay off workers. In the case of Stockton, the city has cut tens of millions of dollars from their budget, mostly targeting law enforcement and other essential services. _Stockton's Woe
In fact, in cities across the "blue zone" of the US, municipal workers' unions have enough power to bankrupt cities, and force the same type of hardship on their citizens.

Detroit, Michigan, is the true forerunner of municipal decay. And as you might guess, the municipal workers' unions of Detroit stand front and centre to blame for the downfall of motown, motor city.

What we are seeing is the doom of cities -- from Obama's Chicago to Detroit to inner city Philadelphia. Murders, flash mobs, out of control gang violence, and fat cat wealthy unions able to control elections and determine who gets elected to oversee their contracts.

Government officials on all levels are stuck. They are overloaded with debt and have no more money to spend. The only option is to start cutting services like law enforcement, emergency medical response, public food and homelessness support, and other social services like rental assistance. The effect of this collapse of government services is rising crime across the entire spectrum of criminal activity including murder, theft and organized attacks like flash mobs.
This is more than likely coming to a town near you in short order, no matter where in the United States you live. _shtfplan
The comments following the article linked above are also interesting.

Private citizens are being forced to come together to form citizen's vigilance groups, militias, and armed neighborhood watch posses. This is what comes from the US electing a president who is viscerally antagonistic to the private economic sector and the non-governmental economy.

If Obama is re-elected, expect the situation to grow even worse. Much worse.

Hope for the best. Prepare for the worst.

Wasting Resources and Corrupting the System

This visual display of US federal prisoners by category of offense helps to place the US system of law enforcement and imprisonment into perspective.
There are currently 93,876 Americans serving time in federal prisons for drug crimes, which is by far the No. 1 offense that results in a federal jail sentence (see chart). Drug offenders make up almost half of our federal inmate population, and that help explains why the U.S. retains the status as the World's No.1 Jailer with a prison population of 730 per 100,000 population, more than even any of the world's most notorious and oppressive regimes like Burma (120 per 100,000 population), Cuba (510 per 100,000 population), and Iran (333 per 100,000). _MJPerry
US popular demand for illegal drugs drives a huge global industry of drug-related profit making -- from Burma to Afghanistan to Bolivia to Colombia to Mexico and beyond. The gigantic profits in the drug trade lead to the corruption of military, paramilitary, and civilian enforcers in every nation that is touched by the illicit drug industry.

The drug trade likewise generates high rates of violence, as competing groups vie for control of lucrative drug transport and distribution routes and territories.

The only reasonable strategy for achieving a more rational balance of imprisonment, as well as reducing drug related corruption and violent crime, is to slash the profitability of the drug trade.

The answer is not a simple one, given the all too demonstrable human weakness for self-medication, experimentation, social augmentation, escapism, and the chemical manipulation of others.

On the one hand, we are faced with bloated and corrupted governmental agencies which resist any change in current practises. On another hand, we are faced with a strong societal fear of what would happen to the working links of societies, should burden-easing drugs become too readily available.

This fear of societal dissolution in the face of the legalisation of drugs is far more realistic now, than it would have been 150 years ago, when modern anti-drug laws and enforcement were not in effect. The overprotectiveness of an all-pervading nanny state has yielded a cumulative effect on the public character of dependency, helplessness, and a lack of internal grit, substance and sense of solid purpose.

Such persons -- who are today all too common -- have very few defenses against the promise of easy euphoria, megalomania, or sense of calm, peaceful fulfillment from a chemical.

In other words, a sudden and complete legalisation of illegal drugs is likely to create a number of strong and disruptive wave effects crashing through society.

That would not necessarily be completely bad, as long as the productive and protective aspects of society were prepared for the event well ahead of time.

What we are doing now is certainly not sustainable.

Why Do Blacks Commit So Much Violence and Mayhem?

... violent crime is lowest in East Asian countries, intermediate in European countries, and highest in African and in Black Caribbean countries. The median number of violent crimes per 100,000 population were: 7 East Asian countries--34; 45 European countries--42; and 22 African and Black Caribbean countries--149, respectively. The median Gross Domestic Product per Person was highest in East Asian countries ($12,600), intermediate in European countries ($7,400), and lowest in African and Black Caribbean countries ($1,900). Across the three population groups there was an "ecological correlation" of -.96 between crime and wealth (wealthier countries had less crime). Finer-grained analyses, however, found that while wealth was negatively related to crime across European or East Asian countries, it was positively related to crime for the African and Black Caribbean countries (i.e., the wealthier an African or Black Caribbean country, the greater its rate of violent crime). _Cross National Variation in Violent Crime Rates
Around the world, wherever people of African descent are found in appreciable numbers, crime rates tend to be high. Various arguments have been used to explain the high rates of black crime within and around African populations, but the explanation is likely to involve many different factors.

Blacks are seven times more likely than people of other races to commit murder, and eight times more likely to commit robbery.

When blacks commit crimes of violence, they are nearly three times more likely than non-blacks to use a gun, and more than twice as likely to use a knife.

18 and 19 Year Old Accused of Carjacking and Beating 50 Year Old Man Into a Coma With a Hammer

The two adolescent males pictured above were arrested for beating the 50 year old male owner of a carjacked SUV with a hammer, leaving him for dead. He is still on life support in hospital. This crime occurred in the same part of Florida as the recent Trayvon Martin shooting, a region that has suffered an epidemic of crime.
US Incarceration Rates by Race
The high rates of black violent crime are undeniable, although many persons will, for political purposes, deny the obvious. For those who live in the real world, it is important to find the underlying reasons for this long-lived and world-wide epidemic of violent crime, and discover humane ways of dealing with it.

Here is one aspect of the US black community which is often overlooked: The epidemic of fatherlessness and lack of non-criminal role models --
• 70% of all black children are born out of wedlock.
• 65% of never-married black women have children, double that for white women.
• 22% of never-married black women with incomes over $75,000 have children, 10 times that of white women.
• 62% of black families with children are headed by a single parent.
• 85% of black children do not live in a home with their fathers.
• Only 15-20% of black children born today will grow up with 2 parents until age 16.
• Over 80% of long-term child poverty occurs in broken or never-married homes.
• 70% of [black] boys in the criminal justice system come from single-parent homes. _LaShawn Barber_quoting from _A Portrait of the Black Family 2007 (PDF)
Other reasons often given for the ongoing pandemic of violent crime overflowing from black communities around the world, include: poor impulse control, low frontal lobe executive function, low IQ, an ongoing environment of hatred generated within black communities and media outlets which create and amplify violent hatred against other races, politically correct excuses made for black violence in the public sphere, and so on . . .

As noted at the top of this posting, poverty is often given as an excuse for economic crimes such as theft, but it can hardly be used to justify murder, rape, and other vicious assault.

Evolutionary psychology may eventually come up with an answer, if the politically correct apologists and enablers can be held back long enough for actual scientists to work on the problem. But how likely is that, particularly when the US President himself dabbles in racial rabble rousing from time to time?

This is not an academic problem, it is not a theoretical problem. While crime exists in all populations of the world, it is noticeably higher than average in and around black communities.
Crime is too complicated to be reduced to mere race. But race cannot be ignored when considering the problem of violent crime, and what can be done to reduce the suffering. First, one must understand the problem. Then one must devise the most humane solutions possible.

It is not clear that the current arrest and incarceration practises within the US are the most humane solutions possible.

More: Steve Sailer compares media coverage of Trayvon Martin and Omar Thornton. If the news media fails to do its job, it only compounds the problem and takes societies further from genuinely humane solutions.

America by Population Group

Images below are via Radical Cartography (h/t Foseti) Similar US maps available for percent Native American and percent Pacific Islander
A higher percent European population is generally seen in lower crime and higher income regions.
A higher percentage of persons of African descent is generally seen in high crime, low income regions. Blacks tend to concentrate in cities.
The "hispanic" category is misleading and confused. For US populations, "hispanic" typically refers to a range of mestizo populations from Mexico and Central America. It can also refer to Cuban immigrants, Puerto Rican immigrants, Europeans with Spanish names or to blacks with Spanish sounding names.

As one would expect with such a confused category, crime and poverty rates associated with a high "hispanic" percentage are mixed.
As with the hispanic category, the "Asian" category can refer to a wide range of population groups, from East Asians to South Asians to Southeast Asians, etc. In general, areas with higher "Asian" population percentages tend to have less crime and higher income.

Trulia Crime Maps
The above map has a link to the Trulia.com crime map website, which will provide you with an incredible amount of "neighborhood-level" detail for crime in whichever city you select. Very useful for planning activities, and neighborhoods to avoid.

Crime rates in the US tend to be higher in cities -- particularly in cities with high black populations and high mestizo populations, with low European and Asian populations.
This map of Chicago gives an idea of the level of segregation one can find within US cities, over 40 years after affirmative action and desegregation policies were put in place. In high black percentage areas and neighborhoods within cities, crime and poverty rates tend to be significantly higher than in areas where black population percentages are lower. That simple fact goes a long way toward explaining the voluntary segregation one finds -- those who can move away from the crime and poverty tend to do so.

If black crime were eliminated from US crime statistics, violent crime rates in the US would be comparable to those in the most peaceful of European states.

More information, taken from official US government crime statistics, on racial disparities in US crime:
  • Blacks are seven times more likely than people of other races to commit murder, and eight times more likely to commit robbery.
  • When blacks commit crimes of violence, they are nearly three times more likely than non-blacks to use a gun, and more than twice as likely to use a knife.
  • Hispanics commit violent crimes at roughly three times the white rate, and Asians commit violent crimes at about one quarter the white rate.
  • The single best indicator of violent crime levels in an area is the percentage of the population that is black and Hispanic.

America is a complex mix of peoples, varying widely by geography and by sub-regions within particular regions and cities. Rates of poverty, crime, corruption etc. vary widely across the regions of the US. Some of these differences can be associated with differences in racial and cultural compositions of these different regions and sub-regions.

If you are planning a visit to the US, please take these differences into account in your planning, for your own safety. If you are planning to re-locate to the US, or are re-locating from one area within to the US to another, please consider the issues presented here, for your own and your families' sakes.

Of course, it could be a lot worse. We could be talking about South Africa:
With 50 murders and 40 ‘culpible homicides’ a day, South Africa has the world’s highest daily violent-death rates.

By comparison, the United States’ city of New Orleans, which holds the dubious distinction of being the ‘murder capitol of the USA,’ records 80 murders A YEAR. _Source

The Wikipedia table above lists intentional homicides per 100,000 population. It is hampered by the fact that many of the third world nations of the world are unable to maintain accurate statistics of this nature, and tend to understate their own murder and homicide rates as an inadvertent routine. Leave it as an exercise to guess which nations that should be listed prominently near the top, are not.
