Wind Power Emerges as Scandalous Failure

Hundreds of European offshore wind turbines have a design flaw that causes them to slide on their bases . More, expensive gearbox failures are an industry-wide problem . Worst of all, wind energy is unpredictable and massively expensive for power utilities to integrate into a dynamic power gridPDF. Big wind turbines are gaining a well-deserved reputation as expensive failure-prone hobby-horses for incompetent green activists and politicians.

Now that we have discovered how deep and wide the problem of organised crime infiltration into the wind industry is becoming, it is long past time for taxpayers to begin to confront their elected officials with the massive waste and fraud that their tax dollars are being diverted to support.

Whenever klutzy monolithic governments are made to scramble to solve a nonexistent manufactured problem such as carbon climate catastrophe, waste and fraud are guaranteed to occur -- probably on a massive scale. Indeed, that is what we are seeing across a broad panorama of wind industry investment, lobbying, and media public relations. There are literally trillions of dollars to be made in the "clean energy industry", and political reputations to be made. Nothing can be allowed to stand in the way of the juggernaut -- not even the stark cruel facts.

Wind power is expensive, unreliable, and prone to massive breakdown at any time. Siemens and General Electric are attempting to evade one massive problem of wind turbines -- ubiquitous gearbox failures -- but the new turbines have their own problems, and faulty gearboxes are just one piece of the ugly puzzle. Even if wind turbines could perform as specified for their full "20 year lifetime", they would not be close to competitive with nuclear, coal, or gas for electric power production.

The Obama - Pelosi regime is in too deeply to back out of the crime-ridden enterprise now. They have to "tough it out" and hope that they can keep the media under their thumb so that the masses of taxpayers never learn what they are doing.

Any informed green could tell you there are problems with wind power, and the industry has most certainly been infiltrated by corporate corruption and crime on a disheartening scale (including big players from the established oil and gas industry), but to claim that our carbon climate is a nonexistent problem immediately renders your whole rant idiotic in it's absurdity.

Person says: Any informed green could tell you there are problems with wind power, and the industry has most certainly been infiltrated by corporate corruption and crime on a disheartening scale (including big players from the established oil and gas industry)...

Perhaps. But now readers can hear the truth from a more honest and informed source.

...to claim that our carbon climate is a nonexistent problem immediately renders your whole rant idiotic in it's absurdity

Perhaps you're right. The word "nonexistent" does not quite fit. "Manufactured" is a better adjective to communicate the reality. Thanks.

Yes ..... to present information on all forms of energy generation in a relatively objective way...... then we could see the advantages and disadvantages of each one. Watching the mass media in action on a daily basis leads one to believe we have a long way to go. Buckminster Fuller had a quote that holds much insight ..... "making money and making sense are mutually exclusive." That, combined with the human aversion to acknowledging mistakes, makes it quite a hurdle for humanity.

Some people are better at making money than others. Most of them have their own purposes for the loot, separate from the betterment of humanity. Others want to better humanity, but do not know how (Bill Gates). Eventually, some will come along with both the money and good ideas for helping humans to better themselves.

All of the massively interlocking governmental and non-governmental bureaucracies and institutions that are dedicated to perpetual parasitic growth for themselves and their cohorts -- almost all of these will have to be cut down drastically before the future has a chance.

you seem to paint a black and white picture. Everything Bill Gates has done ( Bill/Melinda Gates Foundation ) is misguided? Eventually some will come along? There are many people and ideas presently employed in trying to do good things for others...... effectively. I think you might be looking at the world through a narrow lens. I hate thinking that your mindset expressed in this arena is your usual demeanor. If so ..... I would be happy to show you sources of authentic examples of many humans helping each other without thought of financial remuneration. Mass media tends to focus on primarily negative/ sensationalistic stories.

For the purposes of this blog, my attention is quite narrowly focused indeed. The focus is printed clearly at the top and on the sidebar.

In terms of goal-oriented behaviour, I am harshest on myself. But I am also demanding of those who work for me, those who study under me, and those who are my companions.

Try not to hate thinking so much, garyd. Thinking can be useful. ;-)

The Bill Gates follies could take up volumes. Leave it at that.

Sorry al fin ....... I came into your comment section through a "side door" It does seem you believe yourself as one with an omniscient point of view. You seem to take yourself and your thoughts too seriously. Lighten up and smile on occasion ...... I swear the world won't go to Hell if you lose your focus for a moment now and then. As far as intellectual thought .... you might try putting it into perspective :
"The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift." Albert Einstein

An interesting perspective, garyd. And you say you got all that after coming in through the side door? Most impressive.

You missed my little joke -- of intentionally taking your few words out of context -- but that's okay. If missing a joke causes you to advise someone to lighten up occasionally, I'm sure there is a lesson there somewhere.

Everyday reality occurs on several levels simultaneously. Most people are lucky to perceive just one of those levels, in a skewed manner.

Best to turn that acute perceptiveness to more profitable pursuits, but thanks for trying.
