The peak oil movement is well sprinkled with extremists who are not only preparing for a collapse of civilisation, but are actively working to bring it about. The catastrophic global warming movement also attracts its share of intellectuals who have a soft spot in their heart for violent radicalism.
In fact, wherever one looks in the mainstream faux environmental movement, one will find poorly concealed sympathies for the use of violence to bring about revolutionary change in the economic systems of regions, countries, and the world. One might be forgiven for thinking that the entire faux environmental front is just a cover for its many intellectuals who harbour a desire to see a violent overthrow of the established order.
The CBC is too often like the BBC in its coddling and encouragement of these marginals. A more critical investigation of this phenomenon might have reflected better on the organisation.

So how long before the media goes from employing the odd terrorist here and there and airing their propaganda to actually running terrorist training camps? They can bill them as "media camps for budding young journalists". In the morning they can teach the kids how to use Photoshop to create news and in the afternoon they can teach them how to make IEDs from recycled materials, how to accessorize a jihad vests and how to decapitate an infidel capitalist pig-dog without cutting yourself.
Good point. There is nothing quite so symbiotic as journalism and terrorism.
I suspect that is already being done in Palestine (by the European press).
