It should be noted that in the US, males are far more likely to commit crime than females. Juvenile males are more likely to commit crime than middle aged and older males. And black males commit more crime than hispanic males who commit more crime than white males who commit more crime than asian males.

One scholar's look at some of the reasons for the demographic discrepancies.

Keep in mind that in the US, neighboring cities may have drastically different crime rates. Even different parts of the same city may present distinctly different pictures in terms of crime and predation. Persons who live in these areas can tell you which areas are safer than others -- although it often seems that college professors, journalists, and politicians would rather choke on their own political correctness than to tell the truth about crime.

The crime rates of Europe and Canada have changed to reflect an increasing diversity, even as crime rates across much of the US have declined to reflect a changing population pyramid (fewer youths proportionately) -- and perhaps to reflect tougher sentencing laws.

Below you can see population "diversity" by county across the US. You may be told that any correlation between crime rates and specific types of diversity are purely coincidental. But if you are making a choice as to where to locate yourself and your family, you may want to do more digging.
The point of this article is to keep a clear head when traveling and relocating. Political correctness may help you get elected, but it can also get you killed if you take it too seriously. Unfortunately, many of the same problems associated with crime and diversity in the US are beginning to be a problem in Holland, Sweden, France, parts of Canada, and even parts of Australia.

Cultivate situational awareness, and always carry at least 10 concealed weapons at all times.

This is pretty much the death knell for the US - its increasing diversity. The elites think that peoples are just interchangeable parts - one people can be swapped out for another with no losses in cohesion and social trust. Many Baby Boomers think this way as well, perhaps because they grew up in an era when society was much more homogenous. The upcoming generations will be much more cynical, calculating, and distrustful as a result of increasing diversity. I see this in my own attitudes when I compare them to those of my parents.

It is interesting that the highest crime areas are the bl-ckest areas, so the diversity we imported 200 years ago is still by far the worst.

The boomers are retiring into a world they will soon fail to recognise.

Many crucial and formerly widespread competencies which they took for granted are headed for serious shortages.

The political correctness culture plus the public sector union culture are packing institutions with total incompetents. Which may be okay when the economy is prosperous and growing, but not when things are shrinking and we need to fill responsible positions with competent persons -- who may soon be in extremely short supply.

This does not mean that the competent persons who remain will be kings of the hill. They may be put in prison or mental hospitals (as in old Soviet Russia) for daring to know what they are doing.

Incidentally, public sector unions are heavily "divserse" as well.

Regarding the "lacking core competencies" issue, most of the news you read about this reflects two things: companies are terrified to hire people without the exact right experience listed in the job posting or companies are making up the shortage in an effort to get more H1B visa holders into the country.

I knew a guy who was a management consultant who was singing the praises of bringing in IT people from the other side of the globe. When I asked him about what the American IT workers were supposed to do for a job, he just shrugged smugly.

Also, a lot of times companies want to hire people who are willing to move overseas where the manufacturing is. Shockingly, many people have roots in their community and don't want to live in a foreign country away from their families for work. Crazy - I know.

I have long hoped for the day when we would apply for a job as a number, those that have the most appropriate level of education and experience will get the job. While I realize that an interview is necessary I hope that it will be at the stage of the interview process where it is more about personality and team work than about looks. This is the way things used to be done in the military back when my father was still in, although affirmative action was beginning to creep its way in to the ranks just before he retired. The next thing we have to ask our selves is do we wish for the ways of "Mad Men" , I know this is a work of fiction and the infidelity is exaggerated but really, is that what we want?

By the way the most crime appears to occur in the blackest areas except the north east. Which is the highest crime but less diverse. Looking again at the crime map I have noticed that the highest crime occurs in the most liberal places with the highest taxes. Texas is however an anomaly but can be explained by Mexican drug smuggling cartels.
