How Do You Begin to Prepare for Doombama?
The IMF is worried about an impending social crisis due to massive long-term unemployment in the developed world. The duration of unemployment is skyrocketing, adding hardship upon hardship to societies which were already badly over-stretched by excessive debt.
If you are thinking that the US deserves whatever doom it gets (which seems to be President Obama's point of view), you may think that the rest of the world will be safe from the fallout. Unfortunately for non-Americans and expats, if the US goes down there will be nothing left to prevent global disorder. (Don't even imagine that a Chinese hegemony will act for the good of anyone except the corrupt Chinese CCP inner circle.)
Those -- including President Obama -- who have longed for the US to receive a "come-uppance" for their entire lives, may well get their wish. Most such persons either voted for Obama or cheered for his election from the sidelines. The celebration was not only misplaced, it was premature. After the world lives through an extended Obama depression and comes out on the other side, anyone who still feels like celebrating will be entitled.

The only question I have is whether or not we can put those responsible on trial for genocide. If America goes down to the point where we have to go protectionist, the food shipments to the third world will stop. The first round of deaths will be due to people fighting over what resources are available, others will starve, then those that are left will be overwhelmed with the bodies, disease will set in and that will be the war, famine, pestilence, and plague as predicted. Maybe he really is the anti-Christ.... No but really can we try the people responsible for genocide? Because we should.
We are living in an odd time, when academics, journalists, and intellectuals of all kinds have voluntarily lobotomised themselves to fit the politically correct profile.
You expect such subservience in a time of Nazism, Communism, or Islamism.
But the dumbing down of the public sphere at this time is entirely voluntary.
That being the case, the blame for the ongoing deadly debacle emanating from Washington is quite widely distributed.
Perhaps we should skip the trial and just stop the bailouts, as most of those being bailed out are more acutely responsible.
