Pesticide Pollution Produces Predominance of Female Fetuses and Egg-Filled Testicles

Around the world, in every ocean, from North Pole to South Pole, in every branch of the animal kingdom, the male sex is under assault. Scientists know that the female body plan is typically nature's default. It requires modification by male hormones to produce the male of the species. Evidence is accumulating that certain pesticides used in agriculture, and perhaps other chemicals present in the environment, are blocking the normal developmental action of male hormones on embryos and the young of a large number of animal species.

"Feminisation of the males of numerous vertebrate species is now a widespread occurrence. All vertebrates have similar sex hormone receptors, which have been conserved in evolution. Therefore, observations in one species may serve to highlight pollution issues of concern for other vertebrates, including humans."...Half the male fish in British lowland rivers have been found to be developing eggs in their testes...Research at the University of Florida earlier this year found that 40 per cent of the male cane toads – a species so indestructible that it has become a plague in Australia – had become hermaphrodites in a heavily farmed part of the state, with another 20 per cent undergoing lesser feminisation....boys born to mothers with raised levels of phthalates were more likely to have smaller penises and undescended testicles...Communities heavily polluted with gender-benders in Canada, Russia and Italy have given birth to twice as many girls than boys, which may offer a clue to the reason for a mysterious shift in sex ratios worldwide.

As sperm counts continue to fall, and as sex ratios continue to swing toward the female end of the spectrum, human societies have to decide what they will need to do to avoid potentially existential repercussions.

As the political folly -- and waste of resources -- of the global warming jihad becomes ever clearer on a cooling planet, will humans finally wake up to the genuine, important problems that they will need to face?

Or are dysfunctional human governments so fixated on a faux climate crisis that they will pursue the greenhouse phantom at the cost of being unable to deal with real and actual environmental threats? Humans are accustomed to being failed by their governments. A failure this time may flip humans into a totally new evolutionary path. I doubt that anything in our brave new leaders' pasts has prepared them for that.
