European Cities and the New Demographic
Indigenous Europeans are disappearing from the continent--through failing to procreate and by emigrating away from rising crime rates and the coming culture clash. Europe's new Muslim immigrants are breeding almost four times faster than the Europeans who they are swiftly replacing. It is all taking place within the cities of Europe, on the governments' dime. Compare the Muslim per cent in the country as a whole, with the per cent Muslim in cities. Although Denmark had only 5% Muslim population in 2005, Copenhagen's Muslim population constituted roughly 12% of the city's total.
To understand the ongoing population dynamic, remember: if Europeans are breeding at half replacement, half of them will be gone in a generation. If Muslims are breeding at twice replacement, their numbers will double in a generation. Don't forget to add immigration into Europe from the third world, and subtract emigration of indigenous Europeans to other parts of the world such as Australia, Canada, etc.
Of course, if you look at prison populations in Europe, the percent Muslim population would be much higher--up to 70% or so. Since Europe is determined to become a wealthy retirement home, it had best guarantee the security of its streets and prisons, or the outgoing emigration of persons in valued occupations will go from a trickle to a torrent.
Update: Several things happen when neighborhoods, villages, and towns become Muslim controlled:
The established order comes under attack
Massive intimidation comes to bear on conscientious objectors
Women are intimidated or raped if they fail to submit to Islamic dress
And so forth. The violence and intimidation are insidious and progressive, until ordinary citizens either withdraw from the area or are intimidated into silence and submission. It is not a benign process, nor is it a rational exchange of ideas and traditions. It is a one-way street, a violent conquest at the level of the neighborhood and township.

As usual I find myself disagreeing as to the magnitude of this issue as a potential concern. It is not that I am unaware as to the problems that the Muslim communities represent. I don't look favorably on the teenage jihadis raping native European girls for not wearing the veil or imams and school boards trying to implement sharia by increments. But I do not agree that the evidence points to Islamization of Europe.

That is a bit of an exaggeration isn't it? That would be a TFR of 1.05 kids per woman. French natives have recently seen a rise in their fertility rates to near replacement while immigrant rates continue to fall. Also, it would be more than a generation (time wise) for falling fertility to show the decrease in population described since people survive long after they stop having kids.

For the most part, only the first generation immigrants display that level of fertility, with the exception of those who came from nations with extremely high TFRs who take an extra generation or so to reduce their fertility than other immigrants. Since immigration has been higher historically, much of the Muslim population is actually at a much lower fertility level.

I think that ecologists would refer to that as a selective pressure. You can have a more kids if you are actually home with the wife and it is hard to convince your kids that Islam makes you a superior person if you can't keep out of jail.
The really high national stats are from the Balkan regions so they don't really reflect the immigration phenomenon. And as for the map showing the first category comprising "less than 5%" can be quite a bit lower than 5%.
You certainly have a point about major cities giving concentrated Muslim communities political power but to make that mean anything they need the kind of demographics at national levels that only majority rule can accomplish.
What percent of the Muslim population depicted on the map is self-identified and what fraction was just counted as Muslims by default of ancestry and nation of origin? Muslims may very well consider everyone born to a Muslim father to be Muslim by default but that does not mean we have to.
Again, if I am wrong and Europe becomes an Islamic continent, I will buy you a coke.
"The squeaky wheel gets the grease," is the old saying that applies here. In Europe, Islam is the squeaky wheel. Look at little Holland with a mere 6% reported Muslim population. The entire government of the is afraid to do anything to offend Islam, with Geert Wilders the threatened and heavily persecuted exception. Pim Fortuyn, Theo Van Gogh, and to a lesser extent Ayaan Hirsi Ali have paid the price of honesty in a "multicultural" environment.
Sharia is creeping into Europe through the back door, while the absolute numbers and per centages of Muslims is still quite low. Imagine what will happen at 20% and 30%? As with Lebanon and Kosovo, so with Europe.
In Europe, there is always a fast-breeding "first generation" due to immigration of Muslims--particularly 1st cousin females. From village to metropolis in one easy flight.
It is not a question of whether you are wrong, but how badly will turn out to be wrong. The only cola you will likely be able to buy will be a Mecca Cola.
It is first necessary to acknowledge the problem, before a solution can be found. With Neville Chamberlain failing to see a problem, over half of Europe was gone before anyone even considered solutions.

True, but fear like that is not sustainable. It turns into resentment. Being able to bully a few bureaucrats who are mostly a generation of self-loathing anti-western closet Marxists/fascists anyway is far from actual influence. Not only do the anti-kafir crimes and religious commands turn people against the obsequious lowlifes in office but it exacerbates the apostasy problem of Islam.
Murdering apostates and critics while freaking out about ice cream logos that look like the name "Allah" in Arabic are walking advertisements for the argument that it is not the corrupt dictatorships of the Middle East that make Islamic culture so frightening but Islam which enables the dictatorships.
One big 9-11 scale attack or a handful of rapid succession London bus bomb scale attacks would further fuel the apostasy phenomenon. Even those who are not disgusted out of the religion immediately after such attacks start looking into their religious scriptures in order to defend it from criticism, only to find how disturbing it really is. There are two groups of people who really understand Islam better than most people, terrorists/zealots and apostates. That's why illiteracy has been the preferred state of most Islamic nations until recently, why Muslims were told not to take the Qur'an with them into infidel lands where people might see it and point out embarrassing things in it and not to ask questions about the religion. Madrases are able to eliminate the apostasy problem by intense repetition until it is so familiar that questions no longer arise and through other programing techniques. Uncontrolled access to the Koran and Hadiths along with critical points is caustic to Islam.
America and Canada have minuscule Islamic populations so Coke will still be available here. But just in case, I will bury some in a time capsule.
Most Muslims appear to take pride in the ability of Islam to inflict damage and cow westerners into submission. If Muslim extremists appear weak and unable to carry out attacks, they will lose the respect of the Muslim community at large.
A love of peace for its own sake, regardless of religious currents in society, is a western idea. Muslims tend to prefer Islamic rule, with everyone else dhimmis. At that point, peace is fine with Muslims so long as things stay that way. Islam is central. It is not a religion as westerners think of religion. It is a total life system.
It really is a different culture. One cannot easily put his own thoughts into the heads of someone from a different culture. Something about square pegs and round holes, what?

"Last year's riots, in which nine people were killed, shocked not only the troubled province of Kosovo but also the entire country into an awareness of the problems of this most backward part of Yugoslavia, which is made up of many ethnic groups.
In June a 43-year-old Serb, Miodrag Saric, was shot and killed by an Albanian neighbor, Ded Krasnici, in a village near Djakovica, 40 miles southwest of Pristina, according to the official Yugoslav press agency Tanyug. It was the second murder of a Serb by an Albanian in Kosovo this year. The dispute reportedly started with a quarrel over damage done to a field belonging to the Saric family.
The local political and security bodies condemned the murder as "a grave criminal act" that could have serious repercussions, according to the press agency. Five members of the Krasnici family have been arrested and investigations are continuing.
The authorities have responded at various levels to the violence in Kosovo, clearly trying to avoid antagonizing the Albanian majority. Besides firm security measures, action has been taken to speed political, educational and economic changes.
Past Errors Acknowledged
Privately, some officials acknowledge that the rise of Albanian nationalism in a society that is based on the principle of the equality of nationalities is the result of past errors - at first neglect and discrimination, and more recently failure to act against divisive forces or even recognize them.
"The [Albanian] nationalists have a two-point platform," according to Becir Hoti, an executive secretary of the Communist Party of Kosovo, "first to establish what they call an ethnically clean Albanian republic and then the merger with Albania to form a greater Albania. "
Mr. Hoti, an Albanian, expressed concern over political pressures that were forcing Serbs to leave Kosovo. "What is important now," he said, "is to establish a climate of security and create confidence."
The migration of Serbs is no ordinary problem becuase Kosovo is the heartland of Serbian history, culture and religion. Serbs have been in this region since the seventh century, long before they founded their own independent dynasty here in 1168."
Change the nationality of the names & it could be San Deigo or Copenhagen rather than Kosovo.
A prison population that is 70% Muslim across several European countries where the total Islamic population is still in the single digits is not hyperbole on AF's part. It describes the contemporary prison population in France.
