What should we do if faced with a true apocalyptic crisis--a large space object in an earth-intersecting orbit? Here are several scholarly papers from this week's Planetary Defense Conference in Washington, D.C.

While most media outlets provide daily stories on impending climate "disaster," the real potential disasters generally get very little coverage. Whether that skewed coverage points to a political bias on the part of big media, or simply an ignorance of scientific reality, will be left as an exercise for the reader.
