A Journey Through Time and Temperature

A graphic journey through hundreds of thousands of years of global temperatures, as represented by ice core isotopes (deuterium and Oxygen 18). Notice the cycles, and how the "alarming" hockey stick tends to shrink in importance as we gain a wider historical perspective. Unprecedented? Hardly.

Learning the history of things is important, if you are smart, curious, and honest. If you are a psychological neotenate and academic lobotomate -- in other words a modern zombie product of popular culture and political correctness -- just go back to sleep!

via WattsupWithThat? At WUWT you can find links to several versions of J. Storrs Hall's graphic series of official research data, including a YouTube version.

I might be a bit less of a psychological neotenate because of your blog. Thanks!

I think there is some high-sticking going on. Personally, I am against ice ages. Mammoths are dead - lets get over it. We have too many polar bears already. They eat people. Sure they are nice to look at but they eat people. They are mean. Did I mention that they eat people?

The global warming people are worse than you think. They think global warming is bad. I think that warming would be good in that it would keep us out of the next ice age, which would be very, very bad. I have always believed that global warming would be good and should, infact, be promoted rather than prevented.
